Finn Class

About the Class:

The Finn is the Olympic Class men's single-handed dinghy. The first Finn was launched in 1949 by designer Rickard Sarby, and the dinghy first appeared at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952.

The Finn was designed specifically as the Olympic Class men's single-handed dinghy. Today the Class is particularly popular in Europe amongst the veteran (over 40's) class.

The Finn has an unstayed mast and single sail.

The Finn has been the learning ground for many athletes who have gone on to be world champions in other classes. Many say it is the most demanding of the Olympic Classes in terms of strength and fitness.
