Each of the officiating disciplines; Race Officer, Judge, Umpire and Measurer shall share almost identical principles and requirements at each of the given levels of accreditation. *
A broad overview of the revised principles of accreditation is as follows:
- All accreditations are for a period of up to four years
- All accreditations require agreement to a code of conduct
- All accreditations require being holder of a silver card
Club level accreditation requires:
- Participation as that type of official in at least four events (Not applicable to Club Race Officers)
- Nomination by an affiliated club, or
- Attendance at a seminar in the last four years
State level accreditation requires:
- Participation as that type of official in at least four events
- Attendance at a seminar in the last four years
- State Level Passmark or higher exam pass
- A performance assessment
National level accreditation requires:
- Participation as that type of Official in at least four events of a national level, or five if using state level
- Attendance at a seminar in the last four years
- National Level Passmark or higher exam pass
- A performance assessment
The policies incorporate recognition of prior learning (RPL), and these experiences may be used to satisfy the above requirements for appointment.
Officials seeking reappointment are not required to resit an examination.
The revised application forms are as follows below:
- Application forms shall clearly detail the required information
- Application forms shall clearly detail the required attachments
- Application forms shall clearly enable the applicant to submit further relevant information
- Application forms shall require the applicants agreement to the Code of Conduct for officials
* Note that Measurer accreditation varies slightly from the other disciplines of officiating due to the different nature of the role.
