Yachting Australia Measurers Conference
During May, Yachting Australia hosted the annual Measurers Conference for IRC and ORCi at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on Pittwater in NSW.
16 measurers from all over Australia attended the two day event which covered everything from sail measuring to conducting incline tests.
With some new faces in attendance and plenty of experience within the group, the conference provided an educational forum for all of the attendees. Matters of particular interest included the discussion of Amendment 10 regarding stability, measurement for ORCi and guidelines for endorsement of IRC Certificates. Guest speakers during the event were Naval Architect David Lyons, Surveyor Ian Souter, Yachting Australia Board Member Matt Allen and Volvo Ocean Race Chief Measurer Shaun Ritson.
Yachting Australia would like to thank Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club for hosting the conference, all of the guest speakers and of course the measurers for their attendance and participation.
