Yachting Australia recognises that we accumulate skills and knowledge as we progress through our lives.  These can be gained in the workplace, through studies or voluntary positions, among many other experiences.  After you have had a look at the course content you may feel that you already have the skills and knowledge identified.

Rather than attend the course it may be more appropriate for you to apply for 'Recognition of Prior Learning' (RPL) / 'Recognition of Current Competence' (RCC).  It is also possible that you may gain partial recognition for some of the unit and undertake some training then be assessed for the remainder of the unit.
