The Other Geelong Regatta Results
Last weekend five boats participated in SS Rendezvous: The Other Geelong Regatta, a cruise to Geelong. The winner on the day was sailing, cruising and just being out there, on the water and in your boat. SS Rendezvous is about arriving and Anxious was first to arrive (20 minutes early), followed by Dreamcatcher (20 minutes late), Extravagance III (somewhat later) and then Forte (well, they were cruising so who cares what time they arrived). Jen and Andy from New Brunette drove to Geelong as Andy is still recovering from knee surgery. All crews enjoyed a well earned refreshment at RGYC after a solid sail into a sometimes boistrous 20 kt southerly breeze. Later, hearty appetites were quenched at the nearby Wharf Shed Cafe. Sunday was the pay-off day, enjoying a very handy 15 kt following breeze all the way to RYCV. 30/1/2103
SS Rendezvous - Up the Creek was a hit, with 10 boats meeting at Docklands for a fun afternoon. This weekend, SS Rendezvous - The Other Geelong Regatta is on, a social gathering at RGYC.

To kick things off, the first Rendezvous will be a short trip up river, on Sunday, 2 December to Marina | YE for a late lunch. SS Rendezvous- Up the Creek if you like!
The Boatbuilders Yard, South Warf for drinks. The fleet will depart individually as required to pass under the Bolte Bridge at 1300, and then proceed to Marina | YE (the southern part of Docklands, where the river continues to Melbourne). Boats are invited to share a plate of food from your galley or walk to
Boats may return whenever they wish, or remain at Marina | YE for the night. The marina will not charge unless staying overnight, but have asked that skippers book individually so that they have contact numbers for all boats.
This inaugural SS Rendezvous event is open to all registered RYCV vessels and we ask that you express your interest by entering the event online.
For more information, contact SS Rendezvous coordinators Andy Merlot or Jen Thompson and regularly visit the cruising tab on the RYCV website.
